Cognitive Assessment

What is assessed:

Cognitive assessments explore a child’s thinking and learning abilities, including reasoning, problem-solving, memory, processing speed, and verbal and visual-spatial skills. The assessment helps identify a child’s cognitive strengths and areas that may require additional support.

Assessment tools used:

  • WPPSI (Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence) :

For preschool-aged children

  • WISC (Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children):

For school-aged children

  • Vineland 3 (Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales, Third Edition)

Assesses adaptive functioning, including communication, daily living skills, socialisation, and motor skills

Together, these assessments can provide a broader understanding of a child’s cognitive abilities, adaptive functioning, strengths, and support needs.
